Flamingo
This page explains what Flamingo is and how we use it at Terra.
What is Flamingo?
Section titled โWhat is Flamingo?โFlamingo is Terraโs time-off management tool. Itโs where we request holidays, sick leave, personal days, or any type of planned/unplanned absence.
We use Flamingo to:
- request PTO in a structured and transparent way
- inform PMs and teammates about availability
- keep a clear calendar of whoโs working, whoโs off, and when
- track approval workflows for each type of request
- maintain accurate records for operations and payroll
How it works?
Section titled โHow it works?โOnce you have access, the process is simple:
-
Request your time off
- Submit your request directly in Flamingo.
- Select the type of absence (vacation, sick leave, personal day, etc.).
- Choose the dates you want to take off.
-
Check team availability
- Before submitting, review the team calendar.
- Try to avoid overlapping with too many teammates taking time off at the same time.
-
Manager approval
- Your manager will review your request.
- They can approve or decline it if adjustments are needed.
-
Calendar visibility
- Once approved, your time off appears in the shared calendar.
- This helps PMs and teammates understand availability and plan work accordingly.
